Weight Coming Off your shoulders
My design started off as a blank canvas. I could have designed anything at all but I am very passionate about the idea of “freedom” and the amazing feeling it can bring to a human.
Throughout anyone’s life they would have awareness of the feeling of being trapped but then they are able to experience the release to freedom.
This image is a symbol to remind viewers the experience of being release and the amazing feeling it gave to them. The feeling of ‘weight coming off your shoulders’ is a remarkable sense that I have tried to incorporate within my design.
I wanted to design something that creates interest but also communicates the idea of “Freedom”.
The design was devised by a number of processes. I manually created a painting using Spray paints, stencils and acrylic paint.
I focused on the idea of incorporating images of what I personally believe symbolised freedom and what can help to create freedom within the world.
I went on to photograph my canvas design using special camera techniques to create and interesting interaction to the eye.
I have created a design which is attractive and fits into the New York environment (actual building).
When I view the end design I am able to experience the message of freedom and life after suffering. This was my main objective I wanted to show to viewers for them to feel the same message/experience.
